US version 2009 and newer. Works with Standard, Pro and Enterprise Editions

Will QuickBooks charge me extra for this?

No. Even though it works seemlessly with QuickBooks it is totaly separate software.

What type of software is this?

The software is designed to work on Windows XP, VISTA and 7. The program can be installed on each machine that will need to process credit cards. QuickBooks must also be installed on the same machine.
